Should you stop using UUIDs? UUIDs (Guid in C#) are widely used as unique database identifiers. UUIDs are random, which makes them popular in distributed systems. However, UUIDs have two big drawbacks: 1. UUIDs slow down database inserts. They also increase index fragmentation. 2.
NuGet Highlight: FastGuid 🔥 It's 10x faster than using Guid.NewGuid(). But how is it so fast? FastGuid maintains a small ThreadStatic cache of 256 Guids. They can be used in-thread without locking. When that cache is fully consumed, it's refilled.
